Viccarbe is a Spanish company specializing in the production of sofas, armchairs, chairs and accessories for the living area, characterized by great attention to detail and bright colors inspired by the wonderful light that illuminates Valencia for most of the year. Viccarbe’s furnishings are designed to create lively contemporary settings, have character and elegance at the same time, are well recognizable but perfect to integrate into any environment: well-made and timeless furnishings that evoke Mediterranean experiences and are able to create welcoming spaces. The brand has received several awards, including the important Business Excellence Prize, awarded to the brand by His Royal Highness the Prince of Spain, and several other awards assigned to individual products, such as the World Interior News in 2016 for the table and bench Trestle, by designer John Pawson.
Viccarbe, furniture that lasts over time
Viccarbe is deeply convinced that the first step towards environmental sustainability is to make furniture that can last over time, produce in a reasonable way and consume no more than necessary. The sensitivity towards this theme is testified by the proposal of a measured collection, not too wide, which includes only furniture that is truly worthy of becoming contemporary classics. Like the Last Minute stool by Patricia Urquiola, which can be used both indoors and outdoors: the seat is made of polyethylene and therefore padded for maximum comfort. Or Nagi by Tomoya Tabuchi, an elegant armchair, born to be a classic: there is also the rocking version, which reinvents a model of tradition in a decisively essential and unexpected way. He received the Architect Price A+ 2016 award. Viccarbe’s ambitious project draws on the collaboration of some of the greatest international designers. Thanks to these prestigious collaborations, collections of timeless furnishings are born with vivid colors. Awarded with the Red Dot Design Award in 2016, the Season armchair by Pietro Lissoni is original but discreet, with its soft and contemporary lines is ideal both for the furniture of private homes, and for use in contract situations (hotels, showrooms, offices). From a single product was born a series, formed by sofas, seats, pouf, also in mini version. The Quadra chair, signed by Mario Ferrarini, is a tribute to the delicacy, the stroke and the instruments of architectural design. Jean-Marie Massaud instead designed Ace, an attractive armchair with a high backrest, characterized by an extraordinary visual lightness: the two-tone upholstery option is perhaps the most contemporary one and allows to combine leather and fabric. Sistema di Lievore Altherr y Molina is the project that allowed Viccarbe to achieve the objective of creating a sofa that is a real complete system composed of independent elements. Now it is the customer who can compose and adapt the couch according to personal needs and using imagination. Every year the range of accessories (armrests, backrests, seats, legs, coffee tables, pillows) develops with new proposals: the choice of the studio Lievore Altherr y Molina was dictated by their great care in the search for perfect details and proportions.
Not only furniture: furnishing accessories between art and design
Viccarbe is not only furniture: the cushion collection designed by Odosdesign reflects the company's interest in leaving nothing to chance. Also, here the proposal is minimal, but able to meet all needs, with a very well-designed color palette. The cushions are made of contemporary materials such as Tyvek® and the seams lose their only practical function, to become protagonists, through a series of decorative stitches in contrast or tone on tone. Halfway between art and design is the so-called ViccArte collection, created to collect unique works, exclusive products created for very special projects located in various locations around the world: the most recent pieces of the collection are the Giro and Bamba tables, by the young Brazilian artist Pedro Paulo-Venzon, characterized by slender forms evocative of stylistic archetypes, between tradition and innovation, between craft and industrial. Common by Naoto Fukasawa is a modular system of benches and seats, elegant and simple: the high-density foam allows to keep the lines purely unchanged over time, even after intensive use; the legs of the individual elements and the matched tables are made of natural wood.
