Panzeri has been active in the lighting sector for over seventy years. In 1947, founder Carlo Panzeri, a businessman from Brianza with a background in the technical and engineering sector, decided to devote himself to the production of chandelier components. After the first halogen lamp in 1977 (model T201) and the success of the T80 model in 1979, the Panzeri brand made its debut in 1991 and was presented at Euroluce the following year. In 2009, Panzeri launched its first architectural lighting collection, PureWhite, and in 2011 the brand created its first Research and Development department focusing on LED technology. Panzeri targets architects, designers and creatives who turn to the brand for indoor and outdoor lighting, and the company's ability to customise its products according to specific client needs. Today, Panzeri lamps are distributed in more than forty countries with particular success on the Italian, German, Austrian, Russian and North American markets. Panzeri is present at the leading trade fairs: Euroluce in Milan, Saloni Worldwide in Moscow and Light+Building in Frankfurt.

Panzeri, Made-in-Italy design lighting

Made-in-Italy values are a constant in all Panzeri creations, produced with raw materials coming exclusively from Italian suppliers, including glass made in Venice and nationally-sourced metals, LEDs and the latest generation of machinery. The company is particularly attentive to design, collaborating with designers like Matteo Thun, author of two projects in 2019. Tubino is a family of wall and ceiling, floor and table lamps that takes the stick-twist archetype and translates it into an essential form made of several interpenetrating cylinders. Firefly in the sky is a wireless table lamp that exploits a distinctive silhouette to establish an empathic connection with the user. At Euroluce 2019, Panzeri presented ZigZag, by Australian designer Jason Bird, an expert in soundproofing suspensions, with the precise intent of proposing a silent and comfortable fixture thanks to the sound-absorbing PET bands arranged vertically - and in zig-zags - to bounce and slide sound waves. ZigZag reduces the perception of reverberated sound by up to 70%. Together with the Jackie table lamps and the flush-mounted Nolita, Zig Zag completes the family of Panzeri lamps designed for office and retail contexts.
Among the design lamps produced by Panzeri is AlDecimo, a wall lamp designed by Carmen Ferrara and winner of the 2017 Archiproducts Design Awards. It is a very accurate concealed system that can be manipulated with slight pressure . In the closed position, only the lamp's perimeter is illuminated. In the open position, the light beam can be projected along an entire wall. One of the brand's latest projects is Mark, a recessed lighting system with an indirect emission designed by Matteo Italia. It reinterprets the concept of recessed lighting by introducing a deliberately visible frame, giving personality to a product that traditionally disappears into the ceiling plane.

Architectural light, according to Panzeri

"Light is that part of architecture that cannot be drawn, a vision, a skilful trick. It is the touch of the concert pianist, which is almost as decisive as that of the composer," wrote Maurizio De Caro in a text for Panzeri. These words contain Panzeri's idea of architectural lighting expressed through the Pure White philosophy. Pure like plaster, a simple, natural, eco-compatible and non-toxic material, and White like the light that becomes the only visible element, freeing itself from any support. The brand’s wall and ceiling lighting solutions with invisible effects are born from this philosophy; they are easy to install and come with fully customisable finishes. The Panzeri architectural lighting collection is divided into three types of fixtures: profiles, recessed and projectors, all designed and made in Italy with a view to the greatest degree of customisation and the idea of making the object disappear exhalting light at the service of architecture.
