Nerosicilia is one of the brands that is part of Nerosicilia Group s.r.l. specialized in the production of indoor flooring and walls tiles in lava stone extracted from the slopes of Etna. The high temperature generated by our special facilities transforms the surface of the slabs: new natural material is created, improved in its technical features, exclusive, and therefore particularly suitable to meet the requirements of modern everyday living. Nerosicilia surfaces reflect the techno-physical potential of the lava stone, with excellent performances and a distinctive and contemporary look. The natural colors are inspired by the fire from the volcano. Depending on the areas of extraction, magma creates different properties, which reflect the material and define the surface. Blocks of lava stone are extracted from the quarry, then cut into slabs. Their natural colour at the moment of extraction is light grey. Slabs are available in the size 80x300x2 cm, to provide architects and designers with all the freedom they need for planning and creating. Slabs are processed in a custom furnace at 1300° C, tracking back the process of fusion. The different Nerosicilia finishes are obtained by varying the time and temperature. The colours and patterns are made entirely with recycled glass from end-of-life TV and PC monitors. The glass is crushed and grinned, becoming raw material for the patterns and the full background colouring of our lava stone surfaces.
