Recognised worldwide, Margraf is part of the Linea Marmo Group, specialising in marble extraction and processing. The original company, Industria Marmi Vicentini, was founded in 1906 in Chiampo in the province of Vicenza with a marble quarry active since the Middle Ages, famous for its precious Chiampo marble, a bright, versatile and malleable stone. From the start, the company stood out thanks to its innovative extraction and processing processes and its collaboration with architects and builders. Prestigious orders for important buildings in Italy, the United States and Argentina were not long in coming. In 1935, company leadership went to Gaetano Marzotto, who increased the brand's prestige. In the post-war period, Industria Vicentina Marmi provided the marble for such buildings as Palazzo Missori in Milan and the restored Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. In the 1980s, the company changed its name to Margraf SpA, and in 1999 it merged with Linea Marmo, creating the group that bears its name. Today the company exports marble globally from its new headquarters in Chiampo. It boasts ten quarries, plants in Italy and Slovenia, and international projects that include airports, hotels, offices and places of worship.

Margraf, marble and natural stone coverings

For Margraf, quality begins in the quarry with raw materials and extraction technologies. The company's experts select the marbles and natural stones extracted from its own quarries and from third-party sites. The vast choice of wall and floor claddings in the Margraf catalogue offers 200 kinds of marble and natural stones. From Cipollino Verde to Fior di Pesco Carnico, Botticino Classico to Ombra di Caravaggio, the stones are available in rough blocks and semi-finished slabs. The slabs are available in a wide range of sizes and finishes, including split, sandblasted, bushhammered, rifled, polished, etc. The Marble Tiles line of ready-to-lay tiles offers maxi-formats measuring 91.4 x 45.7 cm with a thickness of 1 cm. The pre-polished slabs - available in Bianco Carrara, Bianco Gioia, Calacatta, Bianco Statuario and Bianco Statuarietto - allow reduced installation times. Unique and refined, the Fluctus collection is the result of research conducted by the Margraf Innovation Lab. The 2 cm thick tiles in 80x80 square modules are available in 4 exclusive finishes: Mediterranean, Ionian, Aegean and Tyrrhenian. The patterns inspired by ocean waves create an almost hypnotic three-dimensional effect with impactful aesthetics. The decorative 3D Marble Cladding collection includes square 60x60 cm tiles with a thickness of 3 cm, whose surface features a three-dimensional pattern. The 7 textures come with mirror, matt or polished finishes applied to various marbles and stones in the Margraf catalogue, allowing an almost infinite number of decorative solutions.

Margraf, from marble blocks to claddings

Constant innovation has made Margraf a global leader in marble and natural stone coverings. The blocks are extracted from quarries in Italy and Slovenia. In addition, the company imports from 30 countries. The blocks are transformed into semi-finished ready-for-sale slabs using specially designed machinery. Some go to the Margraf Tiles division for their transformation into finished products in the brand catalogue of indoor and outdoor claddings. Others enter the Margraf Project division for use in architectural projects and special processing. Finally, Margraf Orientation Lab studies new technical trends and design. Margraf produces a selection of semi-precious stones in custom-made slabs - unique pieces of astonishing beauty. The company's activity is not limited to natural stone but extends to composite materials in various mixtures of cement and resins. Margraf has expanded its range of materials for wall coverings with porcelain stoneware, available in large formats and 14 finishes. Finally, a series of decorative marble elements complete the catalogue; they range from inlaid slabs to mosaics and finished products for furnishings, washbasins, vases, shower trays, fireplaces and kitchen tops.
