Each floor is completely organic and ensures a healthy room climate
Only using natural oils and white glue without any harmful chemicals to create a healthy product and obtain the naturalness of the wood. mafi wood floor oils are based on linseed oil and contain no significant drying accelerator. A fast drying of the oil on the surface is not the intention behind the production of mafi parquet. Rather, it aims to allow a deep penetration into the wood without leaving a layer on the surface. With enough time and careful application of mafi wood floor oils, the wood therefore remains open-pored, breathable and harmonises with the human skin.
The construction in detail
The mafi typical 3-layer symmetrical construction consists of the top and back layers from the same wood in the same thermo treatment. The result is an equally strong counter-move, which greatly reduces the movement of the wood (swelling and shrinkage behaviour). The middle layer consists of an Austrian Pine cross-glued at 90°, which ensures extra stability. The softwood provides for a certain degree of flexibility, which reduces tension in the plank.
A so-called white glue is used for bonding solid wood layers to the mafi plank. This is made from water, coal, chalk and acetic acid, and without solvents which could cause allergic reactions.
Individually tailor-made for each client
mafi has no stock for already produced floors but creates each plank on demand. The origin and production conditions tell a lot about the product itself. mafi produces exclusively in Austria, to order and individually for each customer. The innovative production system allows maximum flexibility but with a quick production time. A large proportion of the products can be produced in four days.
With more hands than machines
By using handwork to create extra value on the design part of the product creation. Hand planing, reworking cracks and filling of them can never be done by machines as they do not follow the mood and character of the wood that makes these floors so special.
Easy cleaning with water and soap
Cleaning and maintenance of floors can be combined in a single operation. mafi floors are cleaned with warm water and the matching mafi wood floor soap. The soap has an antibacterial and antiseptic effect. The high fat content of the soap increases the robustness of the surface against stains and damage.
