KUUMO is a brand developed within the company MW, founded by designer Olivier Santini. It specializes in the design and production of seating solutions that blend transparency, color, and comfort in a refined balance between art and functionality. The main product categories include armchairs, sofas, benches, and coffee tables, designed for both residential interiors and the contract sector, with a particular focus on furnishing high-end Horeca, hospitality, and retail spaces. More than simple furnishings, KUUMO creations are true functional artworks, capable of redefining space through lightness, color, and transparency. Each product is entirely made in France in collaboration with local artisans, following a sustainable, quality-oriented approach. KUUMO positions itself as the ideal partner for architects, interior designers, and professionals seeking customizable, innovative furniture with strong aesthetic appeal.

KUUMO armchairs and sofas: sculptural design and visual lightness

KUUMO products stand out for their use of tempered glass or PMMA (Altuglas) panels that discreetly support organically shaped, inviting cushions. The result is a floating seat, visually light and harmoniously integrated with space and surrounding light. In addition to their striking decorative presence, these configurations also provide high ergonomic performance and comfort. The seats come in various sizes, including sofa and bench versions, and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. The KUUMO collection features several models, each with its own distinct aesthetic and functional character. MW01 is designed for professional settings, with a compact seat and upright posture. MW02, more artistic and abstract, becomes a sculptural centerpiece, ideal for sophisticated interiors. MW03 draws inspiration from retro design, reinterpreted with a contemporary twist, offering a low and enveloping seat. MW04, also available as a stool or bench, suits dining or lounge areas. MW05, winner of the 2023 DNA Paris Design Awards, showcases full, sensual shapes with strong visual impact that transcend the traditional concept of seating.

Premium materials and finishes for KUUMO furniture

The glass panels used for indoor furniture are made of diamond-finish tempered glass, available in clear or colored versions, with over 100 color options on request. Each panel can be numbered, signed, and customized, ensuring uniqueness and traceability. PMMA, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, offers 92% transparency, is lighter than glass, UV-resistant (30-year guarantee), impact-resistant, and fully recyclable. It comes in three standard shades (clear, bronze smoke, and blue-grey smoke) and can also be customized in 25 colors.
Cushions are made of HR 30 or HR 40 foam for indoor use, or reticulated foam for outdoor applications, designed to prevent water retention and ensure quick drying. Alternatively, seats can be made in TPU, a flexible transparent material resistant to deformation, allowing for compositions of 4 to 7 independent cushions that adapt individually to body pressure. TPU cushions are available in six color variants.
KUUMO seating can be upholstered in two high-quality materials: 3D Runner technical fabric, ideal for residential and commercial settings (available in 13 colors), or Soshagro vegan leather, offered in 5 color variants and compliant with key safety standards (IMO FTP, EN, BS). The latter is abrasion-resistant, phthalate-free, and easy to clean—perfect for contract and hospitality projects.

Aesthetic and functional customization

A signature aspect of the KUUMO brand is its extensive customization potential, both aesthetic and functional. Glass and PMMA panels can be decorated using a variety of techniques, each enhancing the uniqueness of the design. For instance, seats from the Limited Edition collection—more artworks than furnishings—have been decorated with graphic elements created in collaboration with artists such as Leah Kirsch and NEP. Techniques include multilayer film printing, which allows graphic patterns or illustrations to be placed between two glass layers for a refined, lasting visual effect. Ceramic printing on tempered glass offers excellent resolution and durability, ideal for intricate and detailed designs. Engraving and sandblasting are also available, producing elegant matte textures; and with PMMA, visual patterns can be applied while preserving the material’s natural translucency.
