Specializing in the production of contemporary-designed furniture and accessories, Ghidini1961 is an important Italian company that grew out of the evolution of the Ghidini Bosco company, founded in 1961 by Giuseppe Ghidini in Villa Carcina, in the heart of Val Trompia, an area historically devoted to metalworking. Initially active in the production of brass components for the lighting industry, the company has developed manufacturing excellence based on a completely in-house production cycle, including advanced techniques such as die casting and lost-wax casting, machining, sandblasting, satin finishing, and polishing.
In 2016, on the impetus of Stefano Giovannoni's artistic direction, the Ghidini1961 brand took shape: a new design-oriented identity capable of enhancing brass in all its aesthetic and material potential. The result is an articulated collection of furniture, accessories and objects for the home, in which innovation and tradition come together in an iconic, recognizable and timeless stylistic language. Since 2018, the company has been expanding its proposal with a first line of upholstered furniture and tables, increasingly establishing itself as a reference in the high-end Italian design scene. On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, Ghidini1961 regularly presents new collections, an expression of a true lifestyle based on manufacturing excellence and timeless aesthetics.

Ghidini1961 design: from brass components to complete furnishings

Ghidini1961's creative universe is distinguished by its collaboration with some of the best-known Italian and international designers, including Aldo Cibic, Alessandro Mendini, Andrea Branzi, Branch Creative, Fernando and Humberto Campana, NoƩ Duchaufour-Lawrance, Richard Hutten, Elisa Giovannoni, Paolo Rizzatto, Studio Job, Nika Zupanc, and Stefano Giovannoni himself. The collection includes a wide range of types, from small decorative accessories to large-scale furniture, with constant attention to the quality of materials and precision execution.
Alongside small objects, such as the Knotted Cherry ring holder, Nika Zupanc's Florida tray or Richard Hutten's series of geometric Tip Top baskets, the Ghidini1961 proposal includes complete furnishings designed for high-profile residential and contract environments. Among them, the Leisure sofa, designed by Lorenza Bozzoli, stands out for its soft and welcoming shapes, the tailored care of its upholstery and the discreet but distinctive presence of brass inserts. Conceived as a central element of contemporary living, Leisure embodies the balance between comfort, elegance and innovation.
In the dining area, the Merlino table, designed by Paolo Rizzatto, is a perfect example of Ghidini1961's design approach: a top with great stage presence, available in rectangular or round versions, supported by a sculptural base in cast brass that underscores its material identity. The structure, elaborate and light at the same time, highlights the company's mastery in transforming metal into an architectural element.
Lighting proposals include the Factory suspension lamp by Elisa Giovannoni, with generous proportions and characterized by a finely crafted surface, and the Kaleidos wall lamp by the Campana brothers, which exploits the natural luster of brass to generate games of refraction. Andrea Branzi's Porto console by Andrea Branzi and the Butterfly coat stand by Richard Hutten are examples of furnishing objects in which function is combined with a refined formal language, while the Rabbit doorstop and the Omini collection by Giovannoni introduce a playful and narrative element, reinterpreting the everyday object in a sculptural key.
