Made in Meda is the slogan that symbolizes the success of Flexform. A 100% Italian success in the high-end furniture sector. Since its foundation in 1959, the company has been producing everything at zero km, in its only production plant and headquarters, in Meda, near Milan, in the heart of Brianza, where every single product is conceived and produced. With almost 60 years of experience in the production of sofas and armchairs, Flexform stands for quality, exclusivity and comfort. Creativity, harmony and rigour are the values recognizable in every single piece, where traditional style is combined with more contemporary forms to create refined and timeless collections.

Flexform, Made in Italy furniture since 1959

The Galimberti family has been at the helm of Flexform since its foundation. The company was initially established as a small workshop, where sofas and upholstery are produced for the furnishings of Milanese palaces and villas on Lake Como. After just a few years, the transition from artisan to industrial production is already essential: Flexform becomes a S. p. a. and starts exporting first to Europe, then all over the world, his contemporary, comfortable and entirely Made in Italy collections. In 2001, Flexform Mood was born, a unique collection of precious and exclusive furniture, in which a fine craftsmanship is updated with the deco and retro style. Suitable for both the domestic and contract sectors, Flexform Mood is eclectic and combines classicism and contemporaneity. Proportions, fabrics, materials, finishes, colors make up a balanced and sophisticated cosmopolitan style of great classic elegance. The first collection of the Flexform Mood brand bears the signature of John Hutton, who was its artistic director until 2005. At the head of the brand today we find Roberto Lazzeroni who has created families of products with a strong and defined character. Currently Flexform furnishes some of the most beautiful spaces in the world, from hotels in Arabia to Australian lofts and American villas. Its modular sofas, consisting of various elements that can be assembled together, are able to capture the attention, becoming the fulcrum of the environment in which they are located. Long Island and Groundpiece are two of the company's successful collections. Flexform is widely present in over 90 countries around the world, with its 22 flagship stores and 100 shop-in-shops.

The sober elegance of Flexform furniture

Flexform is known worldwide for its refined collections of upholstered furniture with balanced proportions, versatile and able to adapt to every need, thanks to the wide range of customization of finishes, materials and fabrics. Elegant, fresh and timeless tables, chairs and storage units complete the production. Flexform also proposes solutions for the sleeping area for a living idea that involves all the rooms of the house. The high quality of Flexform products also lies in the use of exclusive materials. Linen, cotton, cashmere, velvet, leather for upholstery; wood, glass, metal and marble for structures and tops. The sober elegance of Flexform furniture is well defined by the expression Effortless Style: elegant, sober, never excessive, Flexform environments are recognizable by the calm, relaxing atmosphere, characterized by the skillful use of color shades and the use of natural fabrics with neutral tones.

The partnership between Flexform and Antonio Citterio

The company has always collaborated with the best designers on the Italian scene: Cini Boeri, Joe Colombo, Paolo Nava, Carlo Colombo and Giulio Manzoni to name a few. For about 40 years, however, it has been the architect Antonio Citterio who has been coordinating the Flexform collections and contributing to the realization of the company's values in objects. Architect, director, deus ex machina, is the designer who has given a soul to the product, dialoguing with the enlightened client of the company in a continuous synergic path of exchange and sharing. Antonio Citterio signed the A.B.C. armchair for Flexform, a true and undisputed icon of the brand, selected in the 2015 ADI Design Index. ... More ... less
