Falmec is an Italian company specializing in kitchen hoods, cooktops and air purifiers, based in Vittorio Veneto. Founded in 1981 from an intuition of Danilo Poser, a worker with an entrepreneurial vocation, it is now one of the excellences of made in Italy and an international reference point in the sector. Since its beginnings, the artisan workshop has chosen high-quality materials, such as AISI 304 steel, and draws on the creativity of the best designers, established or emerging. While maintaining a family-run business, thanks to the development of increasingly advanced technologies, the company is transformed into a true industrial reality, capable of carving out an increasingly important role for itself in the albeit crowded global competitive environment. The attention is not limited to the choice of the best raw materials, but in general concerns the conception of the product itself, designed and tested to last over time, giving the best performance every day. Awards and recognitions were not slow in coming, and today the showcase is so rich that it is impossible to mention them all. Suffice it to mention perhaps the most prestigious, namely the XXVI Compasso d'Oro, won in 2020 with the Spazio hood designed by Francesco Lucchese. The Lumen Isola 175 hood from the Design collection appears in the Palme d'Or-winning film at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, “Parasite” by Korean director Bong Joon-ho. Today, Falmec boasts 7 branches distributed in Europe, and is present in several countries around the world through a dense network of distributors and dealers, as well as flagship stores in South Korea and China.

Falmec extractor hoods, discreet technology for a living space

The latest additions to the Falmec catalog emphasize the possibilities offered by integrated and concealed built-in range hoods. The Elements collection takes the relationship between aesthetics and functionality to the highest level, as for example in the Brooklyn countertop hood, design by Francesco Lucchese, awarded the Archiproducts Design Awards 2024. The hood is built into a modular bridge structure, which allows for expanded support space and the addition of other elements such as a cup holder, toilet roll holder, and so on. Or, the Shelf model, a true utracompact suction shelf, which in addition to suction furnishes, also thanks to the modular elements that allow you to design the wall above the top as you wish. The Monolith model, designed by Studio Ferrani, looks like a cube to be placed on the top, and has multiple functions, thanks to the storage modules equipped with electrical and usb sockets. The Design collection includes a variety of models, including the award-winning Light island hood, simple and versatile at the same time, presented in the 2024 catalog in the new bronze finish, which complements the matte black version. Unmistakable is its slim profile suspended from the ceiling and highlighted by LED strips. Or again, the steel hood with integrated lighting Jolie, which looks like a wall unit and is perfect for open space furnishing solutions with integrated kitchen and living. Among the historical models, we can mention the Sophie island hood, which at first glance looks like a classic pendant lamp, but turns out instead to be a charcoal hood with integrated lighting. The circular shape is not a mere stylistic quirk, but instead ensures maximum filtering surface area for better suction.

Falmec solutions for cooktops and air purifiers

Falmec's offer does not stop at the proposal of cooker hoods and exhaust systems. The Italian company, over time, has expanded its range by including in its catalog products that improve the quality of life in domestic and professional environments. This is the case of hobs with integrated hood, such as the brand new Level One model, characterized by extreme minimalism: induction hob with touch controls and downdraft hood with motorized lifting capable of selecting the level according to the height of the pans. Brera 75 represents the compact evolution of the Brera model, and is composed of a single visible element, namely the induction hob. A thin horizontal slit in the back of the hob is the only clue to the presence of the hood, which starts up automatically when the flap is raised. In the Zero/Zero Easy model, on the other hand, the hood is inserted in the central part of the glass-ceramic cooktop, and it has automatic speed adjustment according to the cooking power. Another Falmec success is the Bellaria air purifier. This is a Murano blown glass table lamp that, at the same time, functions as an air purifier. Protagonist at the European Product Design Award, this creation of the Italian brand is designed by Marco Zito, and includes original solutions for use. The process of air sanitization, in fact, is certified by a light indicator, which changes color depending on environmental conditions. ... More ... less
