Established & Sons is a British brand that embodies innovation in contemporary design, combining creative freedom, expert craftsmanship and advanced manufacturing techniques. Founded in London in 2005, the brand reflects the energy of its hometown through collaborations with internationally renowned designers and support for emerging talent. With more than 50 designers involved and nearly 200 pieces made, Established & Sons has helped shape the global design conversation, resulting in iconic creations displayed in prestigious museums, galleries and private collections. The brand's focus on experimentation and quality results in furniture and lighting that challenge convention and redefine the way objects inhabit contemporary spaces.
Established & Sons furniture: experimentation between form and function
Established & Sons' catalog includes a wide range of furniture with strong aesthetic and conceptual value. The Principal Collection, the centerpiece of the brand's production, includes distinctive pieces such as the Heidi stool and the celebrated Font Clock, designed by co-founder Sebastian Wrong, which reinterprets the classic roller clock with an innovative typographic approach. Significant collaborations include the work of Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, authors of the Quilt sofa, featuring an unmistakable three-dimensional texture, and the Grid modular system, designed to offer flexible solutions in interior design. Established & Sons' experimental approach is also evident in the Wrongwoods series, a collaboration between Sebastian Wrong and Richard Woods, in which bold graphic patterns transform functional furniture into works of art. The Mauro chair, developed with Italian designer Mauro Pasquinelli, is another example of the brand's ability to translate innovative visions into industrial production. Other notable projects include Raw Edges' Stack Storage Unit, a system of irregularly stacked drawers, and Philippe Malouin's Mollo sofa, with its soft, enveloping lines.
Established & Sons lamps, between art and technology
In addition to furniture, Established & Sons is known for its lighting collections, which combine technological innovation and aesthetic research. An emblematic example is the Filigrana Light, a series of pendant lamps inspired by the Venetian tradition of glassmaking, which creates sophisticated plays of light through finely handcrafted surfaces. The collection also includes the Lighthouse Light, designed by the Bouroullec brothers, which explores the relationship between light and materials through a blown glass diffuser combined with a solid, geometric base. More recent creations include Sabine Marcelis's Aura lamp, which interprets light as a sculptural element, emphasizing the contrast between translucent materials and reflective surfaces.
Established & Sons: a laboratory of ideas for 21st century design
In addition to mass production, Established & Sons boasts a collection of unique, ambitiously designed pieces: the Signature & Limited Collection includes some experimental furniture, including works created in collaboration with Amanda Levete, such as the Drift bench, the Chester sofa, and the Around The Corner project. The brand has also collaborated with visionary designers such as Zaha Hadid, who introduced cutting-edge concepts to the industry with projects such as the Aqua table, Nekton stools, and Seamless modular system, examples of how design can merge with architecture in a fluid and dynamic aesthetic. Through its ongoing research and support of emerging creators, Established & Sons demonstrates how freedom of expression and innovation can transform design into an art form, while always maintaining a strong connection to traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge technologies.
