Ceramica Flaminia

Civita Castellana / Italy

An Italian design excellence: Ceramica Flaminia is specialized in the production of ceramic sanitary ware, bathroom taps and furniture. A reality all Made in Italy that bases its strength on the continuous search for innovative stylistic solutions, but that does not forget its artisan dimension. From this continuous mix of past and future, products appreciated by the markets are born, destined to enrich domestic, professional and receptive environments. If ceramics is the common denominator of the company's collections, another pillar on which the company's action rests is its love for the environment. The brand's processes are devoted to sustainability, and use water purification systems, recycling of packaging material and recovery of plaster molds. The love for the environment reaffirms the strong sense of social responsibility that has guided Ceramica Flaminia since the beginning. The company has repeatedly been involved in charity work, such as donations of medical equipment, sanitary supplies and furnishings. Social responsibility also means spreading culture, which is why the company sponsors artistic events and promotes the publication of books dedicated to the territory of Tuscia and beyond.

Washbasins, taps, sanitaryware: the world of Ceramica Flaminia

Ceramica Flaminia continuously reaffirms its weight in the field of bathroom furniture design. This objective is achieved through the production of models appreciated by the markets and recognized for their quality. The first great successes of the activity date back to the 70s: in this period the first ornamental series, such as the Florale collection, are proposed. It is the arrival of the 90s, however, that marks the definitive consecration of the company on the national scene. Thanks to the Acquagrande collection, in fact, Ceramica Flaminia acquires prestige and fame. The range of products, dated 1997, is the work of Giulio Cappellini and Roberto Palomba, and is characterized by the use of ceramics and the proposition of squared, support or recessed structures. Acquagrande sinks are surprising for their high dimensions, minimal lines and geometric rigor. Their high flexibility also allows the addition of towel rails. The Twin washbasin collection is another great commercial success of Ceramica Flaminia. Ludovica and Roberto Palomba's creations do not betray the company's first love, which is ceramics, but propose a different approach than in the past. The washbasins have a soft cylindrical shape, and are available in different types, built-in or semi-recessed. These models are accompanied by the support, suspended or corner versions. Likewise, the Link range is one of the most successful episodes of Italian activity. A line of WCs and bidets designed by Giulio Cappellini and Roberto Palomba that plays with colors, shapes and supporting structures. This line includes bidets and suspended sanitary fixtures with a unique, yet flexible design, which allows them to be inserted in all kinds of contexts.

Bathroom furniture since 1954: the history of Ceramica Flaminia

The history of Ceramica Flaminia is inextricably linked to the history of Italian society. The very birth of the company is linked to an episode of social importance, the strikes of the ceramic companies of Civita Castellana in 1954. In this context, some young people who joined the protest decided to set up their own business: thus, Ceramica Flaminia was born, a company that moves on from its artisan roots but which, within 30 years, has registered a growth in production and turnover. This success is due to the transition from traditional production techniques, typical of the 50s of the last century, to industrial processes. The arrival of the 60s and 70s marks a surge in purchases of bathroom furniture by the general public, and Ceramica Flaminia is the absolute protagonist of this period. The use of tunnel kilns improves production capacity, while machining is becoming more and more sophisticated. As the years go by, the brand strengthens its image, up to the opening of new plants. Today, Ceramica Flaminia can count on three production laboratories, in which all production processes are carried out. The increasing attention to international markets does not change the character of the company, able to interpret social changes while remaining faithful to its principles. The arrival of the new millennium, for Ceramica Flaminia, marked the beginning of further work with Italian and foreign designers. Alessandro Mendini, Paola Navone, Studio Nendo and Jasper Morrison reinforce the company's tradition by offering high quality washbasins, taps and bathroom furniture. Morrison himself is the protagonist with the Bonola collection, including contemporary style ceramic WCs, washbasins and bidets. ... More ... less
