Elegant shapes, variety of colours and textures, purity of design: these are the main features of the exclusive Betoni
vases. They catch the eye at first sight, not because of their extravagance, but because of their understated appearance, which gives any space a contemporary design touch. "Concrete is a fascinating material. We wanted to show that this inanimate material can coexist perfectly with living nature," says Bronislav Vala, who initiated the idea of producing large-scale designer planters in the Czech Republic.
Planters designed for a unique genius loci
Concrete has one great advantage: it can be perfectly combined with other materials. This is why concrete planters are suitable for both outdoors and indoors. They are designed in such a way that they revolutionise a space, giving it a completely different dimension. Be it gardens, shopping centre lobbies, hotel lobbies, restaurants, terraces, roofs, but also, outdoor swimming pools, relaxation areas or parks and historical buildings, every space has its own genius loci, you just have to know how to exploit and capture it. "Our planters stand out from other concrete planters mainly due to their sophisticated design and low weight. This makes them much easier to handle. We produce them from noble raw materials, which is reflected in their quality and durability," says Bronislav Vala. They range from small and medium-sized pots to large
high pots. Their use outdoors is timeless, but they can also be used indoors, remaining harmonious.
Combinations of colours and shapes
The return to simplicity and minimalism is exactly what Betoni offers: the
Classic vase collection offers natural beauty, while the
Decor vases are a riot of elegance. Five types of sizes and four colours offer a wide range of possibilities for combinations and applications. This is clearly visible in the design of the Valeč hotel in the Trebic region: the connection between a historical building and modern rooms in a single complex requires a sensitive approach; upon entering the lobby, the concrete planters emphasise the historical atmosphere of the place. They are also used appropriately outside, along the swimming pools. Their presence adds authenticity to this relaxing space and gives a welcoming feeling to those seeking relief for body and mind.
The interplay between concrete and nature
Landscape architect Jakub Finger is convinced that concrete is a timeless material. "Large concrete pots have their own character, they do not have a coating, they are not a moulded product. They are naturally beautiful." Nature and concrete coexist well together, and the accessories make these pots into small 'gardens'. At the bottom of the inner perimeter is a geotextile that can be supplemented with thermal insulation to prevent the substrate from overheating in summer. These accessories are tailor-made for all sizes and types of pots. From the very beginning, concrete pots have been the work of skilled hands. Behind the Betoni brand are people who wanted to explore the new possibilities and limits of this material. After several months of development, a real recipe for the concrete mixture and special moulds for the pots were created. Under the supervision of master concrete mixers, the pots are cast by hand and, most importantly, each one has a unique design, each one is an original work of art.
