Three companies are owned by the Bernardelli Group, a Brescia-based company that, since 1982, has been working totally in the field of extraction of selected aggregates, in the recovery and recycling of materials, in transport and road construction. A new building of 2,000 m², about 70 employees and a sales network in continuous development, both directly and indirectly, make it a reference point for the construction industry today.

Always attentive to the regulatory, environmental, safety and quality aspects of the products, it was one of the first to adopt internal procedures and factory production control manuals complying with all the requirements of the regulations currently in force (9001-14001-18001- Directive 305-SOA).

Four departments
Edilquattro. Manufacture of selected sands and gravels, in both bulks and big bags, building materials in bags: mortars, screeds, concretes, plaster and cement based grouts, plasters, primer and waterproofing materials, asphalts. Demolitions and dumping grounds management. Cava Veraldi extraction of calcium carbonate used for the production of granulates and pebbles of different sizes and featuring the typical Occhialino marble granulates. Novastrade. Road construction and asphalting Bernardelli Trasporti. Transport of aggregates - third party transportation - hazardous and ordinary waste - logistics.

The History
The company was established in 1982 in Borgosatollo as groupage carrier to foreign countries, especially Sweden. In 1987, the marketing of aggregates is coupled with the main business in a period when the market opens up. Hence acquiring the first quarry is an easy step, the following year the aggregate quarry in Montirone becomes active, and soon later, a second quarry is acquired in Ghedi.

The quality and outstanding features of the material from Brescia, the best in Italy, pass the boundaries of the district: requests are astonishing, figures become noticeable. The boom of prefab in 90’s involves specialising in the trade by supplying selected aggregates for the manufacturing plants of concrete prefabricated items and Bernardelli becomes a leader as supplier of the most important companies of prefabricated items in Northern Italy.

The all-around vision of company founder Arturo Bernardelli addresses to starting the dumping ground in the District of Brescia: “Initially it was a service to clients asking for a place to dispose the waste material from demolitions. Today it is a corporate core business pairing with the logistics and extraction business”, says Bernardelli. Ever focused on environment-sustainable aspects, the company purchases the first processing plants for smashing the recovered materials and starts manufacturing recycled aggregates: “Beside trends I have always believed in it and it is a business that I have been pursuing for over 20 years”, continues Bernardelli, “and greatly satisfactory”. Strongly based on the quarrying business and backed up by the availability of a precious raw material a concrete batching plant is activated to manufacture concrete but also to market cement.

At the same time the building sector is enhanced - “this is also a request from the market” - and goes on with the acquisition of Novastrade in 2009, a company specialised in road manufacturing and asphalting and working mainly with public bodies. But the story does not end and in 2011 Cava Veraldi is also acquired, i.e. a peculiar and unique quarry in Italy yielding calcium carbonate used for the production of Occhialino marble granulates and pebbles.

After the completion of the new head office in Borgosatollo, a dream was fulfilled which was to produce directly building materials in “Double bag”, mortars, screeds and concrete of the highest quality, “an almost obligatory path in the enhancement of aggregates”, as well as an expansion of the product range in bags.
